Open Call Fashion Film Workshop

Act! Cut! Play! is looking for new talent in the fields of fashion, dance, film and theatre

Are you a student of or recent graduate in film, theatre or fashion and do you like to think outside the box? Then we have a workshop that’s perfect for you: working on a ground-breaking fashion film. The workshop will be given by a theatre-maker, fashion designer and filmmaker who themselves have pushed back the boundaries and made pioneering fashion films under the banner of the Act! Cut! Play! project.

FASHIONCLASH Maastricht, ModeMuseum Antwerp (fashion museum) and Flemish Arts Centre De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam developed the project Act! Cut! Play! with the aim of taking narrative within the fashion film genre further. Teams were put together consisting of a theatre-maker or choreographer, a filmmaker and a fashion designer. Together, these makers took up the challenge of creating a new fashion film. The films premièred in 2016 and have now all picked up various awards at international fashion film festivals.

In the next phase of the project, the Act! Cut! Play! makers are looking forward to sharing their experiences with emerging new film, theatre and fashion talent. Now you can join in with a day of workshops dedicated to fashion films given by a theatre-maker, fashion designer and filmmaker who have already created an Act! Cut! Play! film.

Interdisciplinary teams will be assembled, and following the workshop these will craft a plan for a ‘low-budget’ fashion film. The winning team will get the opportunity to make their film, with the expert coaching from filmmaker and participant in Act! Cut! Play! Daniel van Hauten. The film will première at FFFF – FASHIONCLASH Fashion Film Festival (3 and 4 November in Maastricht).

Interested in taking part? Then sign up as soon as possible.
